چکیده

Distributed systems are getting more and more popular in every field of computing. This is also true for reactive systems. Traditional techniques for developing reactive systems are not very suitable for developing distributed reactive systems, because they are based on synchrony hypothesis, and it can not be hold in a distributed system. It is necessary to develop new techniques to deal with distributed reactive systems. In this paper we propose to join the features of two techniques used to specify systems: Estelle and StateCharts. The first one is very suitable for distributed systems, meanwhile the second one is broadly used for specifying reactive systems.

Synchronous Estelle: Just Another Synchronous Language?

Synchronous Estelle is a new language designed to specify distributed reactive systems. We have developed this new language, that tries to merge both asynchronous and synchronous paradigms, as an answer to some problems not solved with existing techniques. We will show its syntactic and semantic features, the way to obtain executable programs according to a specification, and some hints to perf...

Specifying Multimedia QoS Parameters and Synchronization using

A distributed multimedia system (DMS) involves the transmissions of different types of data over the same or different communication channels. Data include noncontinuous ones, like text and image, and continuous ones, like video and audio, which are characterized by time. A specification language to specify multimedia Quality of Service (QoS) parameters synchronisation mechanisms, it must be ab...

Veriication of Estelle Speciications Using Tla +

The Formal Description Technique (FDT) Estelle is a formal method proposed by ISO 1 to specify distributed systems. Several techniques of verifying Estelle speciications based on a translation into other formalism, such as Petri Nets or diierent kind of logic, have been developed. Because the Estelle speciication language is rich and its semantics is quite complex , these methods have various l...

Definition, Semantics, and Analysis of Multirate Synchronous AADL

A number of cyber-physical systems are hierarchical distributed control systems whose components operate with different rates, and that should behave in a virtually synchronous way. Designing such systems is hard due to asynchrony, skews of the local clocks, and network delays; furthermore, their model checking verification is typically unfeasible due to the state space explosion caused by the ...

BDL, A Language of Distributed Reactive Objects

We introduce the definition of a language of distributed reactive objects, a Behaviour Description Language (BDL), as a unified medium for specifying, verifying, compiling and validating object-oriented, distributed reactive systems. One of the novelties in BDL is its seamless integration into the Unified Modeling Language approach (UML). BDL supports a description of objects interaction which ...
